Instead of a single ply, you get a coated 5mil outer ply paired with a 7.5mil inner ply, giving you a thicker, more resilient head that can handle backbeats all night without caving. The 2mil control ring and precision-drilled dry vents remain, so you still get that focused, overtone-free snare sound the Genera Dry line is known for.

The two-ply construction shifts the tone slightly darker and fatter compared to the standard Genera Dry, with a more pronounced low-mid presence that fills out your snare voice. Rimshots have real weight to them, and the coated surface responds beautifully to brushes. If you love the Genera Dry sound but find yourself blowing through single-ply heads too quickly, the HD version gives you the same sonic character with substantially more headroom for punishment.
